Yes, I necro'ed. At least I used search.

This idea has become more relevant a year down the road, after the release of EotN and PvE skills. They make Elonia and Cantha easy enough, but make Tyria a joke. Hell, all a lot of people do now is get a run to LA, level up, go to EotN, get elites and armor, and run over the rest of Tyria. It was highlighted for me with the Titan Quest thread. Everyone talked about how easy it was with H/H, adding emphasis to how quests which, pre-factions, used to be the hardest in the game, turned into pointless side quests worth it only if you get into the RP side more, or want to play to the true end of the game.

It needs a refresh. Make end-game areas equivalent to RoT. Add better rewards than XP, like maybe end chests at the end of Hell's/Titan Source. At least make it as much of a challenge as the other chapters. Even HM sucks compared to the other games.

I'd rather necro a post and give credit to the person who had the idea, than stroke my e-peen posting a new thread fifty people have already posted about.

Sorrow's is a cake walk with SWAY and henchies, and Drago's flatbow is only worth it for the uniqueness(it's HUGE). Compare Titan Source or Sorrow's to DoA and tell me they are harder with a straight face. Compare them to Urgoz/The Deep. No comparison. Sorrow's might compare with the greens, but not with the difficulty.

Once again, the games were made with just Proph skills in mind, and haven't been changed. Most players have at least one other chapter. I'd say a majority has all three. At least a large minority has EotN(1 million in EotN sales, according to Anet). Just bring it on a level with the others.

I'd love a fresh restart, new greens, older greens being remodified (because they suck, please no more 20/20, 15^50, +30 weapons. We have enough, variety.)

Elite Ascalon armor. Ftw. Please and thank you.

If I had to think ways to retain interest in Prophecies, those would be:
- Turn the Titan quests into repeatable missions for 8 players started by talking to Glint's Vision. MAke them harder too, specially the last one. They won't allow heroes or henchmen, either. With end-chest and stuff.
- Turn the Tombs of the primeval king into an elite area too, add an end-chest and remove the heroes and henchmen from there. The end-chest will give one items for each character, except for the toy greens like the Ogre knife, when the ogre knife drops, it comes with another drop.
- Make a Titan elite weapon set that can be obtained only by making those two missions. Probably by collecting trophies or something like that.

- Add Challenges. One in Maguuma, one in Amnoon Oasis, one in Kryta, accessed from the Doors of the old arenas. The one in Maguuma would be against the White mantle, the one in Amnoon Oasis would be about ghosts and Forgotten ones, and the one in Kryta would be against undead.

- Expand some Prophecies weapon sets to add Daggers, Spears, Scythes and Ritualists weapons. (For example, Raven scythes dropping where raven staves drop)

- Inscriptions. Make items drop inscribed like in the other campaigns, in the same way they drop in other campaigns. So, if they make them drop inscribed only from chests or only in hard mode, Nightfall and Eye of the North would be changed in the same way, but the same system should be worldwide.

Well they could add a Shining Blade/Flameseeker title similar to SS/LB but everyone would yell since its more "grind".

WOW what an old thread. I am impressed. Let me first start by saying that there are different "playing styles" to the other chapters. I have 2 chapters and one expansion (GW:EN)

Prof is my fav and I play it daily but in presearing almost exclusivly now. I like that area and there is more to do than one would think. There is also the advantage of helping new players before they get involved with the game.

I was very unhappy with Nightfall that i got. I started it by making a new toon so that I could go through it from start to finish but how? I got lost. I do not know where my next quest is and people just called me stupid idiot or a dumb a*s for not being able to figure it out. There are no arrows on the map to follow like in prof so I just gave up. Paid 40+ bucks for something that I never use. I did get the extra spots in storage so that is a good thing.

I deleted the nightfall toon and started another PermaPre toon so now I have 3 of them. One at lvl 10, another at lvl 12 and the final one at lvl 17. I should also mention that I love to grind. Presearing is the greatest for grinding imho. So currently I am grinding on Hunter's Ales. I have 38 more stacks to go and then all of my presearing toons will have the best of everything that there is to offer on pre.

I have completed prof with my main noon and Gwen as well. I heard that there was a buff coming that will make the hom account based so that all of my accomplishments would be able to be seen in GW2 that I intend to buy once it comes out in 2009 or 2010.

I am glad that they never messed with pre. Everything is the same as it was years ago, except for the addition of the LDoA title that is.

It is? I didn't find any problem. It's longer, but not necessarily harder. (Rotscale is probably the exception.)
